What is your science background?

My PhD is in Analytical and Environmental Toxicology, and I was trained at the University of Alberta in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology! I have experience with many life science methodologies, in vitro and in vivo experiments, and developing DNA-based nanotechnology.

Why did you start Vivid Science?

Art invites broader audiences to appreciate the complexity and genius of research work. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and I wanted to provide the opportunity for scientists to reach their audiences in an impactful way.

How did you get into science illustration?

Since my childhood, art has been a strong medium of expression for me. The more I conducted research, the more my artwork reflected my growing love for science. I now aim to give scientists a way to express themselves through art.
